Resources

We have created a number of resources to help you on your journey and hope they provide some support and guidance along the way. These have been written by experts in the field who have covered both the practical and the emotional aspects of planning for end of life care, funerals and bereavement.

This booklet covers all the aspects of planning ahead for end of life. It includes information on the medical and legal plans you may want to put in place including advance care planning, advance decision to refuse treatment, lasting powers of attorney, wills, funeral planning, funeral costs and organ and body donation.

A guide to funeral planning

Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust has developed a guide to planning your funeral. This document prompts you with pertinent questions about the kind of funeral you want. It is also a useful tool for passing on key personal information to those who will need to manage your affairs. Thinking about your own funeral is not easy, but setting out your wishes in advance will be much appreciated by those who will one day be responsible for carrying them out.

Bristol Area Funeral Directors

This leaflet includes a list of funeral directors in and around Bristol that are registered with at least one of the national funeral bodies (SAIF, NAFD) at the time of publication.

Bristol Bereavement Support

In this leaflet you will find a list of local and national services that offer bereavement support.
